Spaghetti Squash

Here is a basic recipe for cooking spaghetti squash.

Ingredients

  • 1 spaghetti squash
  • salt
  • olive oil or butter
  • black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds and stringy fibers from the center of each half.
  3. Place the squash halves cut-side-down on a baking sheet and season with salt.
  4. Roast in the oven for 30-40 minutes or until the flesh is tender and easily pierced with a fork.
  5. Remove the spaghetti squash from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.
  6. Use a fork to scrape the flesh of the squash, which will separate into spaghetti-like strands.
  7. Serve the spaghetti squash as is or with a little butter or olive oil, salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

  • You can add herbs like thyme, rosemary, basil, or parsley on top of the spaghetti squash before roasting it to give it more flavor.
  • You can also serve it as a side dish or use it as a base for a main dish, such as adding some meat or vegetables and a tomato sauce or a base for a creamy squash dish. The possibilities are endless.
