Sparkling Cherry Lemonade

This Sparkling Cherry Lemonade combines fresh or frozen Northwest cherries with fresh lemon juice and sugar to create a smooth, vivid syrup. When mixed with club soda over ice, it turns into a refreshing and bubbly drink that balances tartness from lemon with the sweetness of cherries. The method of blending the syrup ensures no cherry pieces clog your straw, giving a clean, flavorful sip every time. It's an economical way to enjoy a restaurant-style sparkling lemonade with a natural cherry twist.

Description

Sparkling Cherry Lemonade is made by first blending fresh or frozen cherries with lemon juice and sugar, forming a smooth syrup free of pulp. This syrup forms the base for the drink and provides both the cherry flavor and sweetness. Pouring the syrup over ice and topping it with club soda creates a fizzy and fruity beverage. The cherry-lemon combination yields a bright, slightly tart drink, while the club soda adds effervescence without masking the fruit flavors.

The preparation focuses on ensuring a smooth syrup by removing cherry pits and blending thoroughly, which enhances the drinking experience. Customizing the sweetness is straightforward by adjusting sugar quantity. Serving with fresh lemon slices or cherries adds a decorative touch and complements the flavors.

This drink is suited for warm days or casual gatherings where a refreshing, non-alcoholic fizzy option is welcome. The recipe’s simplicity and use of basic ingredients make it accessible and budget-friendly for home cooks who want a lively, fruity soda alternative.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3 cups cherries about 1 lb, fresh or frozen, Northwest variety
  • 1 cup lemon juice from about 6 medium lemons
  • 1 cup sugar you can use 3/4 cup if you like
  • 6-8 cups club soda to taste
  • lemon slices for lemon, to serve
  • ice slices for lemon, to serve

Instructions

How to Make the Best Cherry Lemonade Syrup:

  1. Rinse, drain and pit your cherries.
  2. In a blender, combine 3 cups pitted cherries, 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 cup sugar. If you're cutting down on sugar in your life, feel free to use 3/4 cup sugar. Blend until smooth. You don't want pieces of cherry to get stuck in your straw.

Creating Sparkling Cherry Lemonade:

  1. Fill a glass half way with ice. Pour 2-3 Tbsp of your cherry syrup over your ice and add club soda to taste. It's usually 1/4 cup syrup to 3/4 cup club soda. Top with a fresh cherry and serve. You're gonna love the fizzle. My sisters both said this was restaurant quality except WAY cheaper!
