Spiced Homemade Hot Buttered Rum

You've got to make this homemade cocktail as the weather cools, trust me! It starts with creating a hot buttered rum batter using butter, spices, vanilla extract, and brown sugar. Next, combine the mixed batter with hot water and dark rum to create the ultimate luxurious and satisfying cocktail (made without ice cream). It will keep you warm all winter long!

  • 2 oz. dark rum per cocktail

Notes

  • You can prepare the spice batter ahead of time and store it in the fridge until ready to use for up to 10 days.
  • Variations: replace the hot water with hot apple cider or top with whipped cream.
  • The mugs in the photos have 1 ½ serving each.
