Ingredients

  • 12 oz cranberries rinsed, fresh
  • 1/2 cup spiced rum
  • 1/2 cup water or orange juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • pinch nutmeg freshly grated
  • pinch cinnamon
  • pinch allspice
  • pinch ground ginger
  • pinch cloves ground

Instructions

  1. Put all the ingredients in a medium heavy bottomed saucepan and stir to combine. Bring to a boil over medium high heat.
  2. Turn down the heat and boil gently for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Let the cranberry sauce cool completely before refrigerating. It will thicken as it chills. You can make this up to 3 days in advance.

Notes

  • Feel absolutely free to reduce the amount of spiced rum in this recipe, it will work and still be delicious with half the amount, or less!
