Spicy Cheez-It Snack Mix recipe
Description
This Spicy Cheez-It Snack Mix combines Cheez-It crackers and pretzel twists tossed with a seasoning blend of ranch dressing mix and crushed red pepper mixed into canola oil. Mixing the seasoning with oil before coating the snacks helps distribute flavors evenly across the crunchy components. The shaken bag method allows the crackers and pretzels to get well coated without breaking.
The result is a crisp, savory snack with a hint of heat balanced by the cool, tangy ranch spice. The use of both crackers and pretzels provides a mix of textures and shapes. The snack is served as is without further cooking, making preparation quick and easy.
It is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container or refrigerated for up to one to two weeks, maintaining crispness and flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 cheez-its 12.4 oz, box
- 6 oz pretzel twists
- 1 Ranch dressing mix packet
- 1 Tbsp crushed red pepper
- 1/2 cup canola oil
Instructions
- Combine the oil and seasonings together in a small bowl.
- Place the crackers and pretzels in a large ziplock bag (you may have to use 2 bags).
- Then pour the oil and seasoning mixture on top of the crackers in the bag.
- Seal the bag tightly and shake until the crackers are fully coated with the seasoning mixture.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Leave some air inside the ziplock bag before sealing to allow the crackers to move freely and coat evenly.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
