Spicy Deviled Eggs
Description
Spicy Deviled Eggs consist of halved hard-boiled eggs filled with a creamy yolk mixture seasoned with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, hot pepper sauce, kosher salt, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. The yolks are mashed and blended thoroughly to a smooth consistency that both balances the heat and adds richness. The eggs are garnished with smoked paprika, lending a delicate smoky flavor and enhancing their presentation. You can adjust the cayenne amount to customize the spice level.
The eggs offer a smooth texture from the creamy filling alongside the firm egg whites and serve well as finger food for gatherings or as a snack. They should be served shortly after assembly or stored refrigerated for up to three days to maintain freshness.
For best results, the eggs are fully cooked by boiling in hot water for 12-14 minutes. Variations may include substituting mayonnaise with sour cream or cream cheese, depending on preference. The filling can be made milder or hotter by altering cayenne pepper amounts, giving flexibility to suit different tastes.
Ingredients
- 8 large egg hard-boiled
- ⅓ cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt or ¼ teaspoon of any other salt, Diamond Crystal brand
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Pinch cayenne pepper
- smoked paprika for garnish
Instructions
- Using a sharp knife, slice each egg in half lengthwise. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a medium bowl. Arrange the egg white halves on a serving plate.

- Spoon the yolk mixture into the egg white halves. Sprinkle with smoked paprika. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve and for up to three days.
Notes
- Boil eggs for 12-14 minutes to ensure the yolks are fully cooked.
- Adjust cayenne pepper to control the spiciness to your liking or omit for milder eggs.
- Mayonnaise may be replaced with sour cream or softened cream cheese for variation.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within three days; do not freeze to preserve texture and flavor.
