Spicy Grilled Shrimp Skewers

Spicy Grilled Shrimp Skewers feature fresh, deveined shrimp marinated briefly in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, paprika, chili powder, and cayenne pepper. Quickly grilled on skewers, the shrimp develop a slightly charred exterior with a tender, juicy interior and a balanced spicy flavor, making a straightforward dish suitable for a quick appetizer or main.

Description

The recipe starts with fresh shrimp that are peeled and deveined, then coated evenly with a marinade combining olive oil, lemon juice, fresh minced garlic, paprika, chili powder, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. The marinade’s acidity and spices add brightness and heat without overpowering the shrimp’s natural sweetness. After a short five-minute marination, the shrimp are threaded onto skewers.

Grilling for approximately 90 seconds per side over high heat yields shrimp that are lightly charred while maintaining a tender interior. The quick cooking preserves moisture and texture, with the seasoning creating a mild to moderate spicy profile that accentuates the shrimp’s flavor.

Skewered and served immediately off the grill, these shrimp are ideal for serving as finger food at gatherings or paired with sides for a light meal.
