Spicy Shrimp
Description
Spicy Shrimp features large shrimp spiced with a blend of cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, garlic, and Old Bay seasoning, delivering a bold yet balanced heat. The shrimp are sautéed in butter to develop a rich base, then finished with Worcestershire sauce adding depth. Bell peppers in red, yellow, and orange along with purple cabbage and onion are sautéed briefly to retain their vibrant colors and crunch, enhancing the dish’s texture and freshness.
The shrimp are cooked until opaque and tender with a slightly smoky and spicy crust from the seasoning blend. The colorful vegetable confetti and chiffonade of basil layered over the shrimp create visual appeal and add subtle herbal brightness. This dish works well served as a main with rice or as a spiced appetizer.
To maintain the shrimp’s tenderness, cook them only until just opaque and avoid overcrowding the pan. The combination of butter and Worcestershire sauce helps keep the shrimp moist while intensifying the savory notes.
