Spicy Thai Beef Salad Recipe
Description
The recipe begins by seasoning thinly sliced beef with salt and pepper before quickly searing it on high heat until well browned. Meanwhile, the dressing is made by mixing fish sauce, lime juice, canola oil, light brown sugar, and thinly sliced bell pepper. The seared beef is placed in a large bowl with fresh herbs including basil, cilantro, and mint, cucumber slices, and cherry tomatoes. The dressing is poured over and the salad is tossed to combine and marinated chilled for at least an hour to blend flavors.
Once ready to serve, the salad is arranged over a bed of butter lettuce which adds a crisp, mild crunch complementing the savory and spicy beef and herb mixture. The dish offers a balance of textures and bold Southeast Asian flavor elements that can serve as a light main course or side.
