Spinach Artichoke Pesto Pizza
Description
Spinach Artichoke Pesto Pizza starts with rolling out pizza dough into a circle, then spreading a layer of spinach basil pesto across it. Fresh chopped spinach and drained, chopped artichoke hearts are layered atop the pesto, followed by shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Baking at 450°F for 18-20 minutes crisps the crust and melts the cheeses, creating a pizza with a balance of herbaceous, earthy, and creamy flavors.
The texture features a golden, slightly crisp crust with gooey melted cheese and tender vegetables. The pesto is the primary flavor element, with spinach adding freshness and artichokes contributing a subtle tang and texture contrast.
This pizza makes a suitable vegetarian dinner or lunch and can be customized with different types of pesto or cheese. Using store-bought refrigerated dough can simplify preparation. The recipe also notes that gluten-free dough can be used for dietary preferences.
