Spinach Artichoke Wontons

Spinach Artichoke Wontons feature wonton wrappers filled with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, spinach, marinated artichoke hearts, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. The filled wontons are sealed and deep-fried until golden, providing a crisp exterior and a warm, savory filling. Served with a fresh tomato and parsley topping, these wontons offer a flavorful appetizer with contrasting textures.

Description

This recipe blends softened cream cheese with thawed and drained spinach, finely chopped marinated artichoke hearts, shredded mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, seasoned with salt and pepper. The filling is chilled briefly to firm it for easier handling. Small portions are then placed in the center of each wonton wrapper, which is folded into a distinctive package shape using beaten egg as glue.

The wontons are deep-fried in hot oil until evenly golden and crisp on all sides, then drained on paper towels. The cooking method ensures a crunchy exterior that contrasts with the creamy, cheesy vegetable filling inside. A simple garnish of diced seeded tomatoes mixed with chopped parsley and a pinch of salt is spooned over the wontons at serving, adding brightness and freshness.

These wontons make a satisfying finger-food appetizer or snack. The combination of spinach and artichoke is a familiar pairing reimagined inside a fried wrapper, offering a new texture and presentation while maintaining the classic flavors. The recipe recommends serving immediately to preserve the crispness of the wonton shell.
