Spinach Bacon and Mushroom Breakfast Casserole

This casserole features a blend of eggs, cooked bacon, chopped portobello mushrooms, fresh spinach, melted butter, and grated cheese baked together until set. The ingredients combine to create a rich and hearty breakfast dish with a savory balance from the bacon and earthiness from the mushrooms. Baking the mixture in a casserole dish produces a firm yet tender texture, making it easy to slice and serve warm for breakfast or brunch.

Description

The Spinach Bacon and Mushroom Breakfast Casserole brings together fundamental breakfast ingredients in a baked form. Eggs provide the structure and protein, while crispy cooked bacon adds salty, smoky notes. Portobello mushrooms contribute an earthy depth, and fresh spinach imparts a slight bitterness and color. Melted butter enriches the custard-like base, and cheese offers a creamy finish. The dish is prepared by mixing all ingredients thoroughly and baking at a moderate temperature until set, resulting in a cohesive casserole with a soft interior.

The flavor profile balances hearty and fresh components, with a tender but fully cooked texture. It's suitable to serve warm as a filling start to the day and pairs well with toast or fresh fruit on the side.
