Spinach Carrot Xmas Treats

Spinach Carrot Xmas Treats are savory multi-grain flour dough snacks enriched with chopped spinach, grated carrot, spring onions, cilantro, and warming spices like garam masala, chili powder, and carom seeds. After rolling and cutting into shapes, they are shallow fried in butter to a golden-red, crunchy finish, offering festive vegetable-flavored treats.

Description

The Spinach Carrot Xmas Treats recipe starts by combining multi-grain flour with chopped baby spinach, grated carrot, spring onions, cilantro, and spices including chili powder, garam masala, salt, and carom seeds. Water is added to knead the mixture into a smooth dough, which is then chilled to help it set. The dough is rolled thinly and cut into shapes before being shallow fried in butter until both sides achieve a golden-red, crunchy texture.

The combination of fresh vegetables and aromatic spices gives the treats a flavorful, slightly spicy profile. Using multi-grain flour adds texture and a wholesome base. Butter frying offers a rich flavor and crisp exterior, while the relatively thinness of the dough shape allows them to cook evenly and fast. The treats make a unique savory snack suitable for holiday or casual gatherings.

The recipe involves flipping them during frying to ensure even cooking on all sides and achieving a balanced crunch. They are best served warm shortly after cooking to retain their texture and flavor. The dough resting period improves rollability and final texture.
