Spritz Cookies

These make-ahead classic Spritz Cookies fit perfectly with the rest of my Holiday cookie collection. They are super easy to make, melt-in-your-mouth delicious, buttery, perfectly sweetened, and have a wonderful hint of almond flavor. Decorate them any way you like, dip them in chocolate, cover them in sprinkles, you decide!

Notes

  • Recipe yields about 130 cookies.
  • should not be warm for Spritz cookies.
  • Make these cookies up to a month before Christmas for a stress free snack during the Holidays.
  • Add a little food coloring to the dough for a more festive cookie.
  • Butter is what give these cookies their tender, rich texture and delicious flavor. Do not substitute with margarine.
  • Layer these delicate cookies between sheets of waxed paper in an airtight container. The cookies will stay fresh at room temperature or in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
  • Spritz cookies freeze very well. To freeze, allow the cookies to cool completely before placing them in an airtight container (or an airtight freezer Ziploc bag). Store in the freezer for up to 1-2 months.
