Steak and Tortellini Salad Recipe
Description
This salad blends cooked tortellini pasta with grilled top sirloin steak cut into small pieces and chopped romaine lettuce, providing a combination of tender pasta, savory beef, and fresh greens. The protein-rich steak is marinated overnight for enhanced flavor and grilled to preferred doneness, delivering a juicy texture.
The dressing uses a mix of buttermilk, mayonnaise, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, and pesto, which creates a creamy and herbaceous coating that complements both the pasta and steak. The components are combined after the tortellini is cooked, allowing the flavors to meld.
This salad serves well as a filling lunch or dinner option, balancing protein from the steak and pasta with freshness from the romaine. It can be adjusted with steak alternatives or different pesto amounts based on preference.
Ingredients
- 1 package tortellini
- 4 lbs top sirloin or your favorite meat
- romaine lettuce chopped
Pesto Dressing
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp Parmesan Cheese
- 3 tbsp pesto (adjust for taste)
Instructions
- Set meat in your favorite marinade overnight. You can use steak, or any type of meat. We used top sirloin as it is less expensive and tastes great after a night of marinating.
- Cook tortellini according to package directions.
- Cut and grill your sirloin to desired doneness. Slice up meat in small pieces and set aside.
- Mix all dressing ingredients in a small bowl.
- Add tortellini to salad. Top with steak and dressing. So delicious!
