Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak or beef tenderloin
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 pounds potato cut into 1-inch pieces, red, baby
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese optional, for serving, freshly grated

Instructions

  1. Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces, trimming off any excess fat or sinew. Place the steak bites in a gallon-sized resealable plastic bag or a shallow bowl.
  2. To the steak, add lemon juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat evenly. Cover or seal, then refrigerate for 1 to 8 hours for marinating.
  3. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add cubed potatoes and boil for about 10 minutes or until they are fork-tender but not mushy. Drain and set aside.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Using tongs, cook half the marinated steak, leaving excess marinade behind. Stir occasionally until steak bites are seared and browned. Remove and set aside. Repeat with the remaining steak, avoiding overcrowding.
  5. Return all cooked steak to the skillet. Add butter and crushed garlic. Toast the garlic for 1 minute, then add cooked potatoes. Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until potatoes are slightly browned.
  6. Serve hot, optionally sprinkling with grated Parmesan cheese.
