Steamed King Crab Legs with Garlic Butter and Lemon
Description
This recipe uses a steaming technique to warm pre-cooked king crab legs without drying them out. Garlic is melted into butter and kept warm as a dipping sauce to complement the crab meat. The crab legs are placed in a steamer basket above boiling water that can be infused with additional garlic if desired, then steamed for five minutes until heated through.
Serving the crab with the warm garlic butter sauce and fresh lemon wedges allows diners to adjust flavor to their preference, enhancing the natural delicate sweetness and firm texture of the crab legs.
This simple approach is suitable for a seafood appetizer or main course and preserves the high-quality seafood taste without added heavy sauces or complicated preparation.
Ingredients
- 1 butter melted, stick, salted
- 1 garlic minced, large clove
- 2 lbs king crab legs
- lemon wedges
Instructions
- Melt the butter and minced garlic in a small saucepan and keep warm on its lowest setting.
- Set a steamer tray inside a large pot and pour enough water to steam the crab. Side Note: Since you are only reheating the crab, you'll need a few inches of water.
- Add a few cloves of garlic to the water, if desired.
- Bring water to a boil before laying the crab legs on the steamer.
- Cover the pot and steam for 5 minutes.
- Remove the crab legs and serve with melted garlic butter and lemon wedges. Enjoy!!!
