Stick of Butter Rice
Description
The recipe combines uncooked long grain white rice with condensed French onion soup and beef broth in a baking dish. Thinly sliced unsalted butter is arranged on top before the dish is covered with foil and baked at 425°F for a total of one hour, split between covered and uncovered. The liquid absorbs into the rice during baking, infusing it with savory onion and beef flavors while the butter melts and enriches the texture. Finishing uncovered allows for a slight crisp on the rice surface.
This baked rice dish pairs well with roasted meats or vegetables and requires minimal hands-on time, making it convenient for busy cooks. The use of condensed soups offers concentrated seasoning and reduces the need for additional herbs or spices.
