Sticky Garlic Butter Salmon
Description
This salmon preparation begins by seasoning salmon fillets simply with salt and pepper, then cooking them in a butter-garlic mixture that quickly infuses them with rich flavor. Maple syrup and barbecue sauce combine to create a glossy glaze that caramelizes lightly during the final oven roast. The salmon cooks until opaque and flaky, retaining moisture and a tender texture.
The sauce is spooned over the salmon every 30 seconds while cooking on the stovetop before the skillet transfers to the oven, ensuring the glaze coats the fish evenly and thickens. Fresh parsley and lemon wedges add brightness to the finished dish.
Serving the salmon over white or brown rice makes a complete meal. The recipe’s method highlights the balance of sweet, savory, and garlic flavors without complicated preparation.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon filets
- salt kosher salt
- black pepper kosher salt
- 4 tablespoons butter unsalted
- 4 garlic minced, cloves
- ⅓ cup maple syrup or honey
- 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce your favorite
- ¼ cup water
- parsley for serving, chopped, fresh
- lemon for serving, wedges
- rice for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
- Season the salmon filets all over with salt and pepper.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add the butter. Once melted, stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Stir in the maple syrup, BBQ sauce and water. Bring the mixture to a boil then reduce it to a simmer. Add the salmon into the skillet. Spoon the glaze over top of the salmon every 30 seconds or so. Cook and spoon it over for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the entire skillet, uncovered, to the 425 degrees F oven. Roast for 5 to 8 minutes, until the salmon is just cooked through, is opaque and pink and flakes easily with a fork.
- Sprinkle the salmon with chopped fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
- Serve with white or brown rice!
