Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken
Description
Sticky Honey Garlic Chicken begins by whisking together chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar to make a flavorful sauce with a sweet and tangy profile and a hint of heat. Chicken thighs (or breasts) are cut into uniform cubes and coated with flour seasoned with salt and black pepper, providing a light crust when cooked.
Chicken is cooked in a mix of butter and olive oil over medium heat until well browned on all sides, sealing in juices and adding texture. The sauce is then added to the pan, and the dish simmers for about 10 minutes, thickening into a sticky glaze that clings to the chicken. Snap peas are stirred in during the last 5 minutes, cooking them just enough to soften while maintaining their snap and bright color.
This dish pairs well with cooked rice to soak up the sauce and offers a satisfying combination of tender meat, sweet and garlicky sauce, and crisp vegetables. The balance of flavors and textures makes it a versatile entrée for weeknight meals.

- Add in the sauce straight to the pan with the chicken and let simmer over a medium-low heat for an additional 10 minutes.
- In the last 5 minutes of cooking time, toss in snap peas. Stir gently so they get coated with the sauce and become more tender. Serve up on a bed of cooked rice.
Notes
- Fresh snap peas can be substituted with steamed green beans if preferred.
- Adjust the spiciness by increasing or decreasing the amount of red pepper flakes added to the sauce.
- For a saucier dish, simply double the quantity of the honey garlic sauce ingredients.
