Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Description
This Strawberry Banana Smoothie recipe mixes strawberries and banana—either fresh or frozen—with almond milk and optionally a touch of honey and ice cubes. Blending these ingredients creates a smooth, creamy texture with natural sweetness and fruit flavors. The ice cubes adjust the thickness and chill of the smoothie as desired.
The method is simple: all the ingredients go into a blender and are pureed until smooth. If using frozen fruit, ice is not necessary but can be added for variation in texture. Thinning or thickening the smoothie by adding more almond milk or ice is easy during blending.
This smoothie works well as a light breakfast or refreshing snack. It can be enhanced by adding protein powder, Greek yogurt, or rolled oats if desired, providing extra satiety or nutrition without changing the core fruit flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 cups strawberry or frozen, fresh
- 1 banana fresh or frozen
- 1 cup almond milk low-fat milk, soy or oat milk
- 1/2 Tablespoon honey , optional
- 1/2 - 1 cup ice cubes
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a blender (if using frozen fruit, don't add additional ice). Blend until smooth. Add a splash of milk, to thin, or additional ice, to thicken, if needed.
Notes
- For extra protein, add a scoop of vanilla protein powder, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, or 1/4 cup rolled oats.
