Strawberry Buckle

Strawberry Buckle is a moist cake-like dessert featuring gently folded fresh strawberries into a vanilla batter, topped with a cinnamon-scented crumb topping. Baking until golden, it balances soft fruit with a crunchy streusel topping, offering a textured treat that works well for dessert or breakfast. The recipe highlights the seasonal sweetness of strawberries paired with warm spices.

Description

This Strawberry Buckle combines a tender cake base with fresh strawberries folded into the batter, delivering moistness and fruit flavor throughout. The batter consists of sugar, butter, egg, milk, flour, baking powder, and salt, producing a soft crumb.

On top, a streusel made of sugar, flour, cinnamon, and softened butter creates a crumbly, aromatic topping giving contrast to the tender cake beneath. Baking at 375°F until the top is golden and crisp adds pleasant texture and flavor complexity.

The balance between the tartness of the berries and the sweet, cinnamon crumb makes this suitable for serving as dessert or alongside a morning cup of coffee or tea.
