Strawberry Frosé (Frozen Rosé Slushy)
Description
Strawberry Frosé combines macerated ripe strawberries and sugar to release the fruit's natural juices, creating a sweet base. When mixed with rosé wine—choosing a darker, dry or semi-dry variety for best results—the mixture is frozen until solid. This method ensures the wine's flavor is evenly infused with the strawberries. Blending the frozen mix produces a slushy consistency, balancing icy refreshment with fruity taste. Serving immediately preserves the texture and flavor, making it a pleasant chilled beverage.
This frozen rosé slushy works well as a casual summer drink, light dessert, or party refreshment. Garnishing with fresh strawberries or mint sprigs adds visual appeal and fresh aroma.
Ingredients
- 16 oz ripe red strawberries, roughly chopped
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 rosé wine darker the better, dry or semi-dry, bottle
- strawberry mint sprigs, slices, for garnish
Instructions
- In a container, combine the strawberries with sugar. Stir to incorporate fully; let sit at room temp at least 30 minutes or until berries have emitted quite a bit of juice and are nicely macerated.
- In a 9x11 dish, combine the macerated strawberries with wine. Stir to combine. Place in freezer several hours or until frozen (overnight is fine.)
- Scoop frozen mixture into heavy-duty blender; blend until it's the consistency of frozen slushy. Immediately divide into drinking glasses and serve with desired garnish. (Frosé should be enjoyed on the spot, for best texture and flavor.)
