Strawberry Matcha Latte

Strawberry Matcha Latte combines the vibrant taste of matcha powder with fresh or sauced strawberries layered over milk and ice. The layered preparation results in a visually appealing, refreshing drink that highlights the earthy matcha and the bright sweetness of strawberry, ideal for a chilled treat or a lightly sweetened beverage.

Description

This Strawberry Matcha Latte offers two options for incorporating strawberry flavor: a strawberry sauce or fresh diced strawberries sweetened and macerated with sugar. The strawberries add a fruity freshness that pairs with the bright, slightly grassy notes of matcha green tea powder.

The preparation creates distinct layers by adding ice, milk, and then pouring frothy matcha over the top, achieved by whisking matcha powder with hot water until frothy. This method results in a layered drink with separate flavors and textures, from cool creamy milk at the bottom to concentrated matcha on top, balanced by sweet strawberry components.

To serve, stirring the drink combines the layers, offering a smooth blend of sweet, creamy, and earthy flavors. This latte serves as a cold, flavorful beverage best enjoyed fresh to retain its layering and ice texture.
