Strawberry Watermelon Rosé Sangria

This Strawberry Watermelon Rosé Sangria blends fresh watermelon juice, strawberries, lime slices, rosé wine, vodka, and orange liqueur into a chilled, fruity drink. The addition of honey sweetens the mix delicately. Served over ice and topped with sparkling water, it offers a refreshing, lightly effervescent beverage well-suited for warm days or social gatherings.

Description

Strawberry Watermelon Rosé Sangria features a base of freshly pureed and strained watermelon juice combined with rosé wine, vodka, and orange liqueur. The mixture is sweetened optionally with honey, creating a balance of fruity, floral, and citrus flavors. Fresh strawberries and lime slices are incorporated to add texture and zest, enhancing the sangria’s aroma and visual appeal.

The recipe calls for chilling the mixture to allow the flavors to meld. Serving it over ice with a splash of sparkling water introduces a light fizz, making the drink more refreshing. Garnishing with lime slices, strawberries, or watermelon balls adds an inviting presentation.

This sangria is ideal for casual outdoor events or as a chilled fruit-forward cocktail. Preparing it ahead lets the fruit infuse the alcohol, deepening the flavor profile. It emphasizes fresh fruit juices and light wines for a summery, balanced taste.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 watermelon small
  • 2 cups strawberries chopped or sliced
  • 1 lime thinly sliced
  • 1 dry rosé wine bottle
  • 3/4 cup vodka
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur such as contreau or grand marnier
  • 2 tablespoons honey optional if you want a sweeter sangria, or simple syrup
  • sparkling water

Instructions

  1. Cut the watermelon in half. Take one half and remove the rind and cut into large chunks. Place the chunks in the blender and purée. Strain the purée until you're left with 2 cups of watermelon juice.
  2. Add the watermelon juice, rosé, vodka, orange liqueur and honey if you're using it to a pitcher. Stir until the honey dissolves.
  3. Use a cookie scoop or melon baller to scoop out balls from the other half of the watermelon. Add the watermelon balls, chopped strawberries and lime slices to the pitcher. Stir and chill for at least an hour or two.
  4. Serve in glasses with ice and topped off with sparkling water. Garnish with a lime slice, strawberry or watermelon ball.
