Stuffed Lobster Tail

Stuffed Lobster Tail features lobster meat lifted above its shell, topped with a seasoned mayonnaise and crab meat mixture, then baked until the crab topping is golden and the lobster is opaque. The dish combines succulent lobster with a flavorful, creamy crab stuffing enhanced with lemon, parsley, and seasoning, creating a rich seafood entrée.

Description

This recipe prepares lobster tails by splitting the shells and lifting the tail meat to rest above the shell. A mixture of mayonnaise, parsley, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, bread crumbs, egg white, Old Bay seasoning, and lump blue crab meat is gently mixed to preserve crab lumps and then pressed over the lobster tails. The crab topping melds creamy and savory notes with the sweetness of the crab and delicate lobster.

Baking the stuffed lobster tails at 425°F cooks the meat until it is opaque and the crab topping achieves a golden-brown color, offering slight crispness on top. The mild lemon wedges served alongside add brightness upon squeezing. The combination of textures—tender lobster, creamy crab stuffing, and crisp topping—defines the dish.

This elegant seafood serves well for special meals or impressive dinners. Serving with lemon wedges further balances richness and enhances freshness.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon bread crumbs
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning or fine sea salt
  • 8 ounces blue crab meat lump
  • 2 medium lobster tails
  • 2 teaspoons butter melted
  • 2 lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, parsley, lemon juice, Worcestershire, breadcrumbs, egg white and Old Bay seasoning. Gently toss the crab meat into mixture with a fork, making sure that you don't break up the large pieces of crab.
  3. Pull the edges of the split lobster shells apart and gently lift the tail meat to rest above the shells. Place the prepared lobster tails on a baking sheet.
  4. Brush the tops with the melted butter. Evenly divide and gently press the crab mixture into the tops so it doesn't fall off.
  5. Bake the lobster tails for 10-12 minutes or until they are opaque and crab mixture is golden brown. Serve with lemon wedges or desired dipping sauce.
