Stuffed Mushrooms with Crab
Description
Stuffed Mushrooms with Crab combines whole mushroom caps filled with a rich mixture of cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, and tender blue crab meat. The filling is seasoned carefully with garlic and onion powders, Worcestershire sauce, kosher salt, and white pepper to create a smooth savory base. After stuffing, the mushrooms receive a light sprinkle of panko bread crumbs that bake to a delicate golden brown, providing a contrast in texture.
The recipe emphasizes a baking time of 12 to 13 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure the mushrooms cook through and the crumb topping crisps without burning. Topping the cooked mushrooms with fresh scallions or chives adds a mild, fresh sharpness that complements the creamy filling.
This dish works well as an appetizer or a party snack where guests can enjoy the balance of seafood flavor and cheesy creaminess tucked inside a tender mushroom. Serving them hot preserves the contrast between soft filling and crunchy topping.
