Description
The tuna salad is made by draining water-packed tuna, flaking it, and mixing with mayonnaise to create a creamy seafood spread. The sandwich buns are sliced lengthwise, with the top portion receiving scoops of the tuna salad and the bottom half layered with fresh shredded lettuce, slices of tomato, cucumber, green bell pepper, red onion, black olives, dill pickles, and pickled jalapeños, providing a range of textures and flavors.
Two triangles of white American cheese are added on top of the vegetables, contributing mild creaminess that complements the other sandwich components. An optional extra squirt of mayonnaise can be added before closing the sandwich for added moisture.

Ingredients
- 2 ounce cans tuna water-packed
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 inch sub sandwich buns
- 1 cup lettuce shredded
- 6 lices tomato
- 1/4 cup cucumber sliced
- 1/4 cup green bell pepper sliced
- 1/4 cup onion sliced, red
- 1/4 cup black olive sliced
- 10 lices dill pickles
- 10 lices jalapeños
- 2 lices American cheese white
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
Instructions
- To prepare the tuna salad, drain the excess water from the tuna. Place the drained tuna in a small bowl, and flake with a fork.
- Add the mayonnaise and stir well to combine.
- Cut each sandwich bun in half lengthwise.
- Place two small scoops of tuna salad on the top portion of each bun.
- On the bottom portion of each bun, add shredded lettuce and a few slices of tomato, green bell pepper, red onion, black olives, and pickled jalapeños.
- Cut the cheese squares into triangles and add 2 triangles on top of the vegetables on each sandwich.
- Add a squirt of mayonnaise if desired, close the buns, and serve.
