Summer Fruit Salad

Summer Fruit Salad combines cubes of watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries, and blueberries to create a colorful, juicy mix. Two dressing options—honey citrus or creamy yogurt—offer versatility in flavor, enhancing the natural sweetness of the fresh fruits. The salad is refreshing, light, and ideal for warm weather or as a side dish.

Description

This fruit salad layers a variety of melons with berries, bringing contrasting textures and flavors. Watermelon and melons provide a crisp, watery base while strawberries and blueberries contribute juicier, slightly tart notes. The honey citrus dressing brightens the fruit with fresh lime juice and honey, optionally accented by poppy seeds. Alternatively, the creamy yogurt dressing adds richness from Greek yogurt and lemon juice balanced by honey for sweetness.

Prepared dressings can be chilled separately and combined with fruit just before serving to maintain the freshness and prevent sogginess. The salad can be served immediately or chilled for up to 12 hours, making it convenient for gatherings or meal prep. Adding whipped topping is an option to enhance creaminess, suiting those who prefer a dessert-like fruit salad.

honey citrus dressing

  • Adding a cool whip topping can create a richer, creamy fruit salad variation.
