Summer Peach and Basil Sangria

Summer Peach and Basil Sangria blends white wine with peach brandy, sliced ripe peaches, fresh basil leaves, and optional basil-infused simple syrup. The mixture chills for hours to meld flavors before peach seltzer water is added to add effervescence. This sangria offers a fragrant, fruity profile with herbal basil notes, enhanced by the natural sweetness and aroma of ripe peach slices. Served over ice, it’s a refreshing beverage with subtle complexity.

Description

The sangria combines Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc with brandy, fresh peach slices, and basil leaves. A homemade basil simple syrup, made by boiling sugar, water, and crushed fresh basil leaves then cooling and straining, can be added to introduce sweet herbal nuances. After refrigerating the mixture several hours or overnight, lightly carbonated peach seltzer water is stirred in just before serving to brighten and lighten the drink.

The resulting beverage balances the clean crispness of white wine with the rich fruitiness of peach and the fragrant earthiness of basil. Serving it over ice and garnished with peach slices and basil leaves enhances aroma and chill. This sangria is suitable for summer gatherings where a flavorful, aromatic cold drink is appreciated.

Scaling the recipe up helps when serving a crowd, allowing the flavors to integrate fully and providing plenty for refreshment.

Double or triple the recipe when serving multiple guests to ensure enough sangria.
