Superfood Smoothie
Description
The Superfood Smoothie mixes nutrient-dense greens like baby spinach with tart frozen pineapple and probiotic kefir or yogurt, enhanced by ginger and turmeric for added spice and healthful compounds. Blending until smooth results in a thick, creamy beverage that delivers a combination of sweet, tangy, and mildly earthy tones. Ginger adds a fresh, slightly spicy note, while turmeric contributes a subtle, warm flavor that complements the fruit and greens.
This smoothie is best enjoyed immediately after preparation to retain freshness and texture, although it can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Adjustments to thickness or sweetness can be made by adding more liquid or sweetener according to taste.
Ingredients
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 1 cup pineapple frozen chunks
- 2 cups Kefir plain; or yogurt
- 1 thumb ginger cut into smaller chunks
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in a high-speed blender, and blend for 60-120 seconds until you get a smooth and creamy texture.
- Taste the smoothie, adding more milk if it is too thick or adding more sweetener if it’s not sweet enough for you. Pour into a cup or mason jar. Enjoy immediately, or store in fridge for up to 24 hours.
Notes
- Consume the smoothie immediately for best flavor and texture.
- Leftovers can be stored in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- Adjust thickness with additional milk or sweetness to taste after blending.
