Sweet and Spicy Chex Mix Recipe
Description
The Sweet and Spicy Chex Mix Recipe brings together multiple cereals—rice, corn, and wheat Chex—with mini pretzels, bread sticks, nuts, and rye bagel chips. The seasoning sauce made from melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, honey, and a combination of onion powder, garlic powder, salt, cayenne pepper, and chili powder evenly coats the dry ingredients. Baking at 250°F for about an hour and fifteen minutes crisps the mix throughout without burning.
The flavor combination balances sweetness from honey with the warmth and mild heat of chili and cayenne, complemented by the buttery, tangy Worcestershire sauce. The textural contrast between crunchy cereals, nuts, pretzels, and crispy chips makes this mix satisfying and versatile for various snacking occasions.
The snack keeps well stored in an airtight container for up to three weeks, making it practical to prepare in advance. Gentle mixing of the sauce and tossing during baking helps prevent breaking the mix and ensures even flavor and doneness. Adjusting the seasoning or baking time can tailor the recipe to taste and oven variances.
