Sweet and Spicy Sriracha and Carrot Hummus

This Sweet and Spicy Sriracha and Carrot Hummus combines cooked chickpeas, roasted carrots, and garlic blended with sriracha, honey, and lemon juice for a creamy dip with a balanced sweet-heat flavor. The mixture is softened with olive oil and water to achieve a smooth consistency, making it a vibrant, spicy spread or snack accompaniment.

Description

The recipe uses roughly chopped carrots and garlic blended first to a fine texture, then combined with chickpeas, extra-virgin olive oil, lemon juice, honey, and sriracha hot sauce. The hummus is puréed until smooth, with water added gradually to reach the desired creaminess. The carrots add natural sweetness and earthiness balancing the spiciness of the sriracha and the tartness of lemon juice.

This hummus works well as a dip for vegetables, chips, or as a sandwich spread. Adjust the amount of sriracha depending on your spice preference. The flavors meld well after chilling.

If you use a blender instead of a food processor, grating carrots first helps achieve a smoother texture. This recipe yields a thick hummus that will thicken further when refrigerated, so add water accordingly to account for that.
