Sweet Chex Mix Recipe

This Sweet Chex Mix blends three types of cereal with almonds and sweetened shredded coconut, poured over a hot syrupy mixture of butter, sugars, and corn syrup, then tossed and spread out to set. The coating hardens to provide a sweet, crunchy snack mix with varied textures from the crunchy cereals, nuts, and chewy coconut.

Description

Sweet Chex Mix combines Rice Chex, Corn Chex, and Golden Grahams cereals with sliced almonds and sweetened shredded coconut for texture and flavor variety. The coating is prepared by boiling a mixture of sugar, butter, and light corn syrup, which binds the dry ingredients once mixed. Vanilla extract is added off heat for aroma and flavor.

Pouring the warm syrup over the cereal mixture and stirring ensures an even coating on each piece. The coated mix is spread on parchment to cool and set, resulting in a crunchy, sweet snack with nutty and coconut accents.

This mix can be served as a casual snack or party treat, enjoyed on its own or paired with nuts and dried fruits. The combination of cereals offers a balance of textures, from crispy to slightly softer.

The recipe advises storing the mix in an airtight container and consuming it within about a week to maintain crispness and flavor freshness.
