Swig's Raspberry Dream Recipe

Swig's Raspberry Dream is a creamy, fruity beverage blending fresh raspberry puree with sweetened coconut-flavored half-and-half and chilled Dr Pepper soda. Served over ice, it creates a sweet, fizzy, and richly textured drink with distinct raspberry and coconut notes.

Description

This drink begins by pureeing fresh raspberries with sugar to create a smooth, tangy raspberry mixture. Separately, half-and-half is flavored with coconut extract, adding a subtle tropical creaminess. Layering begins by filling a cup partially with crushed ice and Dr Pepper soda, followed by spoonfuls of raspberry and coconut cream mixtures. More Dr Pepper tops the drink, then it is stirred to combine the flavors and textures.

The raspberry contributes fresh berry tartness and sweetness, while the coconut half-and-half lends a smooth, tropical richness. The Dr Pepper soda provides effervescence and a signature root beer and cherry-like flavor, rounding out the complex profile. Served cold over ice, this beverage offers a refreshing dessert-like experience.

Because the raspberry mixture tends to settle, stirring occasionally keeps the flavors balanced throughout consumption. Variations include using different Dr Pepper varieties such as diet or caffeine-free according to preference.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cup raspberries fresh
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 Tablespoons coconut extract
  • 2 liters Dr Pepper chilled
  • ice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a blender, puree the raspberries and sugar together until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine the half-and-half and the coconut extract. Set aside.
  3. Fill a 16-ounce cup halfway with ice. Then fill it three-fourths of the way with Dr Pepper. Add 2 tablespoons of the raspberry mixture, then 2 tablespoons of the cream mixture.
  4. Fill the rest of the cup with Dr. Pepper, stir well with a straw or spoon, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Dr Pepper Ten, diet, caffeine-free, or regular versions can be used depending on preference.
  • Use fresh raspberries for the puree to achieve the best flavor and texture.
