Taco Crescent Rolls

Put a delicious spin on Taco Tuesday with these Taco Crescent Rolls filled with ground beef and cheddar cheese. You only need 4 ingredients and 25 minutes to make this easy recipe, perfect for a weeknight meal or game day appetizer!

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning click link for homemade recipe
  • ¼ cup water
  • 16 ounces crescent roll dough 2 (8 count) refrigerated packages
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Optional toppings

  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons diced green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Add the ground beef to a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the ground beef until it’s browned, around 5-7 minutes.
  4. Drain any grease from the skillet.
  5. Add the taco seasoning and 1/4 water to the skillet and stir to combine all of the ingredients.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then remove the skillet from the stove.
  7. Roll out the crescent rolls on a piece of parchment paper.
  8. Add a spoonful of the taco seasoned beef mixture about an inch from the top of each crescent roll dough triangle.
  9. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the ground beef.
  10. Starting at the top of the crescent roll dough, roll the dough over the beef and cheese, and continue rolling up tightly.
  11. Fold any excess dough on the side over the top of the crescent roll.
  12. Transfer the taco crescent rolls to a baking sheet.
  13. Place in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  14. Remove from the oven and serve with toppings like sour cream and diced green onions, if you'd like.

Notes

  • The nutritional information provided does not include the optional toppings.
  • Ground turkey can be used in place of ground beef, if desired.
  • You can prepare the taco seasoned ground beef ahead of time, but I recommend assembling and baking the taco rolls right before serving them for the best texture.
  • If you have leftovers, or want to make the taco croissants ahead of time and reheat them, I recommend using the oven. Place the taco crescent rolls on a baking sheet. Place the baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven with the broiler turned on to high. Cook for 3-5 minutes, but be sure to keep an eye on them to make sure they don’t burn under the broiler. Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
  • To make this recipe vegetarian, simply swap the ground beef for meatless crumbles, like Impossible meat, or swap in your favorite brand of soy chorizo.
