Taco Dip Recipe
Description
The Taco Dip Recipe starts with a smooth mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning that forms a creamy and flavorful spread. Layering the dip with shredded cheddar, crunchy lettuce, juicy diced tomatoes, salty black olives, and spicy jalapeños adds contrasting textures and flavors. The final result is a balanced appetizer that combines creamy, fresh, and spicy elements. Prepared in advance, it can be refrigerated for several days before serving, though fresh toppings are best added just before serving to maintain crispness. This dip pairs well with tortilla chips and is suited for gatherings or game day snacks.
Ingredients
- 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 16 oz sour cream
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (shredded).
- iceberg lettuce (diced and shredded)
- 1 tomato (diced)
- black olives (sliced)
- jalapeños (sliced)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning with a hand mixer until the dip is combined and creamy.
- If there are small clumps, then the cream cheese isn't soft enough. Just let it sit longer so the cream cheese can soften again and mix again.
- Once it is mixed, pour into a serving platter.
- Top with shredded cheese, then shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, black olives and jalapeños.
- Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!
Notes
- Make the dip ahead and refrigerate covered for up to 5 days.
- Add fresh toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and jalapeños right before serving to keep them crisp.
