Taco Pickle Chip Dip

Taco Pickle Chip Dip blends sour cream with taco seasoning and dill pickle seasoning for a creamy dip with a tangy, spiced twist. The combination of flavors creates a versatile dip suitable for tortilla chips or vegetable sticks. Making the dip at least 8 hours in advance allows the seasonings to meld and the flavors to mellow.

Description

Taco Pickle Chip Dip combines sour cream with commercial or homemade taco seasoning along with dill pickle seasoning. Mixing these ingredients thoroughly and chilling the dip for several hours enhances the integration of spices and the infusion of pickle notes into the creamy base. The dip offers a balance of tanginess from the pickle seasoning and savory warmth from the taco spices.

Prepared simply by stirring the seasonings into sour cream, the dip can be refrigerated in the original container or a larger bowl for ease of mixing. It is recommended to prepare it at least 8 hours ahead to let flavors fully develop, but initial tasting after about 4 hours allows adjustment of pickle seasoning to preference.

This dip pairs well with tortilla chips and can be used as a condiment or snack accompaniment.

The recipe notes mention approximate nutrition estimates and convey the advantages of mixing in a larger bowl to avoid spills during stirring.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 ounce packet taco seasoning (or 2 tablespoons homemade taco seasoning)
  • 1 teaspoon dill pickle seasoning (I used Trader Joe's)
  • 1 ounce sour cream

Instructions

  1. Add sour cream to a bowl that is larger than the container it came in (for easier mixing).
  2. Add taco seasoning and dill pickle seasoning to the bowl.
  3. Stir with a spatula until fully combined.
  4. Add back to the sour cream container and refrigerate until ready to dive in. I recommend making this at least 8 hours in advance to really let the flavors meld.

Notes

  • For best flavor, prepare the dip at least 8 hours in advance to let the seasonings meld.
  • After 4 hours, taste and add more pickle seasoning if a stronger pickle flavor is desired.
  • Mixing in a larger bowl helps avoid spillover when stirring the seasonings into the sour cream.
