Taco Seasoning
Description
The taco seasoning combines commonly used spices in a blend that enhances Mexican-style dishes by adding warmth and complexity. Chili powder provides a robust base, cumin adds earthiness, while garlic and onion powders contribute savory depth. Smoked paprika imparts a subtle smoky aroma, and oregano adds herbal notes. Red pepper flakes supply moderate heat, balanced by salt and black pepper for seasoning.
Because it is a dry blend, it can be stored at room temperature for up to six months, making it convenient to have ready for quick seasoning of taco fillings, grilled meats, beans, or vegetable dishes. The recipe yields about two tablespoons, suitable for multiple uses.
