Tater Tot Casserole

Tater Tot Casserole layers cooked ground beef and sweet onion with cream of mushroom soup and green beans, all topped with frozen tater tots and cheddar cheese. Baking until the tater tots are golden and the cheese melts creates a crispy, cheesy crust overlaying a savory, hearty filling. This casserole combines familiar, comforting ingredients for a satisfying family meal.

Description

This classic Tater Tot Casserole begins with ground beef cooked together with diced sweet onion, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper to build a hearty base. Cream of mushroom soup is stirred in along with canned green beans to add moisture and a mild earthy flavor, creating a well-balanced filling.

Frozen tater tots are layered on top of the beef mixture, providing a crispy, browned crust once baked. The casserole is finished with shredded cheddar cheese sprinkled over the top, which melts and adds a creamy, sharp contrast to the crunchy tots. Baking at 350°F until the tater tots are golden completes the dish.

The texture contrasts between the crispy topping and the soft, flavorful filling make this casserole a popular comfort food. It’s a convenient and straightforward meal that can easily be doubled for larger gatherings or meal prep.
