- 1 lb ground beef 80/20 lean
- 1 tsp garlic parsley salt
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 3 tbsp all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup milk
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
- 28 oz frozen tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a deep skillet set over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until it is browned, breaking it apart. Season with garlic parsley salt.
- Add the chopped onion, and garlic to the same skillet. Cook on medium heat for about two to three minutes more until the veggies are softened.
- Stir in the flour and cook for about a minute until fully incorporated. Add the milk, broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Continue to cook and whisk constantly until the sauce thickens, about two to three minutes.
- Transfer the ground beef mixture to a 9x13 inch casserole dish in an even layer. Top with two cups of cheese.
- Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Top with the remaining cup of cheese and bake for 10 more minutes until golden brown. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving, then dig in and enjoy!
