Taylor Swift Chai Cookies

Taylor Swift Chai Cookies are spiced cookies flavored with chai tea leaves incorporated into the dough. The dough includes butter, olive oil, sugars, egg, vanilla, and baking soda for texture. After chilling, they bake to golden edges with a tender center and are finished with a lightly spiced icing of powdered sugar, milk, nutmeg, and cinnamon. These cookies offer mild chai flavor and a soft sweetness.

Description

The recipe begins by creaming room temperature butter with olive oil, then adding sugar, powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. The dry ingredients including flour, baking soda, salt, and the contents of a chai tea bag are mixed in to infuse the dough with chai spices. The dough is chilled to firm up, improving handling and texture during baking.

After shaping into rounds and baking at 350°F, the cookies develop lightly golden edges but remain soft inside. Cooling fully is essential before applying an icing made from powdered sugar mixed with milk and dusted with nutmeg and cinnamon, enhancing the chai spice notes and adding a sweet finish.

These cookies pair well with tea and autumn weather, offering a cozy dessert or snack. Adjusting butter type (salted or unsalted) affects the salt level, and omitting salt is advised if using salted butter.

Chilling the dough overnight intensifies flavors and improves texture. The icing should be thick enough to cling without running off, adding a creamy topping that sets before serving.
