Teriyaki Pork Chop recipe

Teriyaki Pork Chop recipe highlights boneless pork chops cooked in a pan with a homemade teriyaki-style sauce made from orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, brown sugar, and ginger. The sauce thickens to coat the pork chops, which are cooked thoroughly through sautéing and basting. The dish blends sweet, savory, and tangy flavors with tender pork to offer a flavorful protein main.

Description

This Teriyaki Pork Chop recipe uses a simple sauce combining soy sauce, orange juice, honey, brown sugar, garlic, and ground ginger. Pork chops are cooked in a skillet, first placing the raw chops in the pan and then adding the teriyaki liquid ingredients. As the sauce heats, cornstarch mixed with cold water is added to achieve a glossy, thickened consistency that clings to the meat.

The pork chops are basted in the thickened sauce and sautéed until fully cooked, reaching an internal temperature of 160°F. The method focuses on cooking the pork in the flavorful liquid rather than grilling or baking, providing a tender texture with a slightly sticky, shiny glaze. The balance of sweet and umami notes in the sauce complements the mild pork flavor.

This dish can be served as a standalone entrée accompanied by rice or vegetables, allowing the teriyaki glaze to provide rich flavor without requiring complex preparation. The straightforward skillet cooking makes it accessible for everyday meals with familiar ingredients.
