Teriyaki Sauce

This Teriyaki Sauce combines soy sauce, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, honey, and toasted sesame oil to create a thick, flavorful glaze. The sauce is simmered to meld the flavors, then thickened with a corn starch slurry for a glossy finish. It offers a balanced blend of savory, sweet, and aromatic notes, suitable as a marinade, dipping sauce, or stir-fry glaze.

Description

Teriyaki Sauce uses low sodium soy sauce, fresh garlic and ginger, brown sugar, honey, and toasted sesame oil to build a harmonious balance of salty, sweet, and aromatic flavors. The sauce simmers gently to marry these ingredients, then a corn starch mixture is added to thicken it, producing a silky texture that clings well to foods. This makes it ideal for glazing grilled meats, vegetables, or as a base for stir-fries. The preparation involves heating the mixture to boil the corn starch for 1-2 minutes until thickened. The sauce can be used immediately or refrigerated for up to a week, retaining its flavor and texture. Its straightforward ingredients and method allow home cooks to add an authentic touch to various dishes without complexity.
