Thanksgiving Sangria
Description
Thanksgiving Sangria combines a red blend or zinfandel wine with cranberry juice, rum or vodka, and triple sec in a pitcher filled with ice. Sparkling water is added for effervescence, and fresh orange juice contributes citrus brightness. Garnishing with slices of orange, apple, and whole cranberries both infuses natural flavors and adds a seasonal touch.
The drink balances tart cranberry flavors with the richness of rum and mild sweetness from the triple sec and fruit juices. The sparkling water keeps the cocktail light and refreshing, making it enjoyable for festive occasions without being overly heavy or sweet.
Serve the sangria chilled, just after making or after refrigerating to let flavors meld. It pairs well with a variety of holiday appetizers and can be adjusted in sweetness by adding more cranberry juice, soda, or simple syrup according to taste.
Optional adjustments include substituting sparkling water with a sweeter soda or using sweeter wines to customize the flavor profile. Fresh fruit garnishes add appeal and absorb the cocktail’s flavors when left to macerate.
