The Best Basic Tossed Salad

This classic tossed salad is loaded with healthy vegetables and takes mere minutes to make. Always a crowd pleaser with the cubed cheddar cheese!

Ingredients

Servings
  • 10 cups lettuce romaine or iceberg, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomato washed and halved
  • 1 English cucumber washed and sliced, whole
  • 1 carrot peeled and grated, medium
  • 1/2 red onion thinly sliced, small
  • 2-3 radish washed and sliced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese small cubes, cubed
  • french dressing

Instructions

  1. Place the salad greens in a large salad bowl.
  2. Top the greens with the tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, carrot and cheese cubes.
  3. Pour the French dressing over the salad.
  4. Toss the salad with two forks or salad tongs to coat the ingredients.
  5. Serve with salad tongs.

  • Additional ingredients you can add:
  • pumpkin or sunflower seeds
  • slivered almonds
  • walnuts
  • olives
