The BEST Bloody Mary Recipe
Description
This Bloody Mary recipe begins by combining tomato juice with prepared horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, celery and garlic salts, freshly ground black pepper, and several dashes of Tabasco for heat. The mixture is chilled to let the flavors meld. To serve, a glass rim is coated with a salt blend, filled with ice, and topped with vodka before pouring the spicy tomato mix.
The drink is garnished with an extensive variety of options including limes, lemons, celery stalks, blue cheese stuffed olives, bacon, pepperocinis, cooked shrimp, pickled vegetables, cheese chunks, and more. This variety allows drinkers to add savory, tangy, or spicy elements based on preference, making it a customizable savory cocktail.
The recipe suggests using pickle-infused vodka as an option to enhance flavor. It’s a classic brunch cocktail known for its complex balance of spicy, salty, tangy, and umami notes.

- 3 tablespoons horseradish prepared, creamy, hot

- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
Instructions
Make the Bloody Mary Mix

Assemble the Cocktails
- To assemble drinks, mix the celery salt and kosher salt on a small plate. Dip the rim of your glass in a shallow amount of water, then dip into the salt mix and twist. Fill an 8-ounce glass to the top with ice. Add 2 ounces of pickle-infused vodka or regular vodka then top with bloody mary tomato mixture.
Add Your Garnishes
- Garnish with limes, lemons, celery ribs, blue cheese stuffed olives, bacon strips, pepperocinis, cooked shrimp, hot sauce, pickles, pickled asparagus or green beans, pickled beets, chunks of cheese, and anything your heart desires. (See post above for tons of garnish ideas.)
Notes
- Use long skewers to securely hold multiple garnishes for both presentation and convenience while drinking.
