The Best Crockpot Hot Chocolate
Description
This hot chocolate recipe combines six cups of milk with sweetened condensed milk and semisweet chopped chocolate in a slow cooker. Heavy cream adds richness and body, while vanilla extract and a pinch of salt enhance flavor complexity. The ingredients are stirred and cooked on low or high heat for several hours, allowing the chocolate to fully melt and infuse the milk mixture, resulting in a velvety and steaming hot beverage.
Frequent stirring during cooking helps prevent scorching and ensures even melting. Once prepared, it can be served directly from the crockpot or transferred to mugs. Suggested toppings such as whipped cream or marshmallows provide optional creamy or fluffy contrasts. Candy canes can add a peppermint note if desired.
For stovetop preparation, heating slowly while stirring is advised. Leftovers should be refrigerated and reheated as needed. This hot chocolate recipe makes approximately eight servings and can be tailored by adding toppings or slightly adjusting sweetness to individual taste.
