The Best Easy Baked Garlic Lemon Chicken Breasts Recipe
Description
The chicken breasts are marinated in a mixture combining olive oil, peeled or unpeeled garlic cloves, freshly sliced lemon rounds, lemon juice, garlic powder, Italian herbs, sea salt, and freshly cracked black pepper. This marinade combines acidic lemon and savory garlic flavors, which infuse the chicken before baking. Marinating time ranges from 30 minutes to overnight, allowing the meat to absorb the aromatic elements.
Chicken is baked at a relatively high temperature of 400°F, or optionally 350°F with additional baking time, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F. Flipping occasionally during baking promotes even cooking and browning on all sides. After baking, letting the chicken rest tented for 10 minutes lets juices redistribute, resulting in tender and moist chicken breasts. The lemon slices also roast alongside, imparting additional aroma and flavor.
This straightforward recipe suits meal prep or weeknight dinners where simply seasoned, baked chicken breasts are needed. The garlic and lemon combination offers fresh, savory notes highlighting the natural chicken flavor without complexity.
