The Best Grilled Chicken Strips

The Best Grilled Chicken Strips are thinly cut chicken breasts marinated overnight in Italian dressing and soy sauce, which tenderizes the meat and imparts a balanced savory flavor. Grilling over medium heat until cooked through results in juicy, flavorful strips with a light glaze from the marinade. They can be consumed immediately or refrigerated for use in sandwiches or salads.

Description

This recipe prepares chicken breasts sliced into roughly 2-inch thick strips, marinated in a blend of Italian dressing and soy sauce. The marinade tenderizes and seasons the chicken, infusing it with herbs and a subtle umami complexity. Marinating overnight boosts flavor penetration and keeps the meat moist during grilling.

Strips are grilled over medium heat, ensuring they cook through to a safe temperature of 165°F without drying. Using an onion rubbed over a hot grill beforehand cleans and flavors the grates subtly. The resulting grilled chicken strips have a tender texture and a balanced, slightly tangy and savory taste.

These grilled strips can be enjoyed hot as a main protein or cooled and stored for easy inclusion in sack lunches or sandwiches. Their convenient size and flavored profile make them versatile for various meals.
